Big Willow COVID-19 Update

By Big Willow 03/17/2020, 12:00pm CDT

Update on Status for Big Willow

Big Willow Families,

In light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and urging from local public officials regarding non-essential gatherings, we will be cancelling all our remaining clinics and practices through April 5.  This is an uncertain and rapidly changing situation, and we continue to prioritize the health and well-being of our players, volunteers and families.

We will determine how this will impact other Big Willow events beyond this time frame, as we continue to monitor updates from the Minnesota Department of Health, CDC and our local schools and community youth programs.

Please know that in our decision-making, we are accounting for both the health of our community members and the recognition of the impact this has on families and development of the youth participants.  With this, we will continue to assess alternatives with the goal of maintaining the continuity and integrity of our spring baseball program.  The board has discussed a fair and accurate process to evaluate players based on past experience as best as possible and will roster teams with coaches, division managers with the goal of having equal ability teams.

Additionally, we would kindly ask parents and children to stay at home if you are feeling ill, and to please contact me (president@bigwillowbaseball.com) if you or anyone in your home plans to travel to a CDC-designated Level 3 country (or layover in an airport located in a Level 3 country).

With this we have provided some helpful tips below.

We at Big Willow thank you for your continued partnership as we navigate this challenge together.

President, Big Willow Baseball Association
